1. Life Coaching
Our founder, Dr. Jaime Casellas, is a Certified Life Coach as well as a Yoga Instructor, Yoga Therapist, and a Reiki practitioner. Jaime believes that our life coaching center is the perfect place for mental health help for folks who are hesitant about seeing a traditional “therapist.”
Our life coaching services here in Rancho Mirage aim to identify your personal and professional goals and potential roadblocks you may be experiencing and help make the path more clear for you. Through one-on-one sessions, we aim to help you build confidence and happiness so you can identify what you love and what your calling is so you can offer your best self to the world.
2. Trauma Management Yoga
Trauma management yoga is an important part of what we do at our life coaching center. We believe yoga and meditation to be powerful tools on the road to freedom from stress and trauma and the emotional and physical manifestations they have on our bodies and lives.
This is mindfulness-based yoga that encourages the practitioner to focus on the present moment. We emphasize breathing and focusing on physical sensations to stay anchored in the now. This practice improves information processing and emotion control and increases attentiveness, which can help release tension and reduce fear and anxiety.
In a group or private settings, we will help you find your center and your true self. With inner peace comes the ability to make peace with trauma from your past and stressors in your future.
Mindfulness practices and meditation go hand in hand. At our life coaching center, meditation is central to how we help people like you gain freedom from what’s holding them back in life. We offer many different kinds of meditation in hopes that one or more of them will suit your individual needs:
- Body Scan Meditation: Like trauma management yoga, the goal here is to explore and tune into the intertwined nature of emotions and physical sensations. Body and mind awareness are used to gradually create freedom from negative sensations and cultivation of positive ones.
- Walking Meditation: This type of meditation encourages the student to be aware of nature and all that surrounds us. By focusing on the act of walking, we can slow down, connect with the body and the present moment, disengage the monkey mind, and strengthen concentration.
- Loving Kindness Meditation: Also called “metta” meditation, this style helps us cultivate kindness toward ourselves and others. Through mind focus and mantras, we send goodwill and warmth either to ourselves or others in order to break free from past traumas and the guilt, blame or other negative feelings that are connected.
- Mindfulness Meditation: Vipassana meditation urges us to create awareness of our thoughts, emotions and physical sensations in order to practice non-attachment to these things. It can be a big help in lowering stress, improve sleep, lessen physical ailments and help you build self-confidence. We consider it an indispensable part of our offerings at our life coaching center.
4. Yoga Nidra
Yoga nidra is a form of guided meditation that produces a state called “yogic sleep,” which can be even more restful and refreshing than actual sleep. It is basically deep relaxation combined with inner awareness.
We can’t say enough about what yoga nidra can do to help combat trauma and stress. It’s the whole package when it comes to mind-body therapy. It has been shown to lower stress (thereby reducing the negative physical effects stress has on the body), improve sleep, and bolster cognitive and psychological health.
5. Mindfulness Retreats
We have begun to offer trauma-sensitive retreats that we hope will embody all that our life coaching center has to offer in a safe, supportive, and nurturing (not to mention tropical!) environment.
